Rate Table Usability Study
I conducted an unmoderated user research study using a preference test. I showed participants two designs (Current experience versus the new designs) to understand if the new designs helped the users navigate the page they were looking at.
At Bankrate we're always brainstorming ways to optimize the rate table which showcases various deposits products.
A common piece of user feedback is that the page is overstuffed with information and that users don't know where they should be looking. The idea we came up with as a team to address this was to create several contextualized design elements. These assets would explain the different parts of the page and help users navigate.
Once we had early mocks of these designs, I conducted a usability study to understand if users found them helpful. Here's the report I compiled for it.
OUTCOME:
After sharing these findings with my team, my recommendations were added to our product roadmap. We prioritized optimizing the Premium offers section in the short term based on this specific user feedback.
